​Our activities consist of staging living history camps, drill and musketry displays, undertaking historical research, and reproducing uniforms, clothing and accoutrements of the period to the highest level of authenticity. A growing contingent of civilian re-enactors of both sexes add a further dimension to our activities.

Strong links are maintained with like-minded groups in continental Europe and the United States and members of the AES travel frequently to participate in events organised by our fellow enthusiasts. ​
